About Al Reid Photography...
Al Reid Photography operates in a home-based studio and he offers his expertise and love of portrait photography to clients that appreciate the time and patience he brings to each session.
I began my photographic journey many years ago. My interest in photography began at a very early age. Armed with a Brownie camera and black & white film, I began taking photos of anyone or anything that would pause and pose. By the sixth grade, I was developing and printing photographs along with a close friend. Then, as a teen, my father and I began to develop and mount color slide film. You see, my father loved photography as well.
In 1980, I bought my first 35mm SLR, a Pentax K1000, and my interest in photography grew more intense. Using a fully manual camera, I had to learn the basics of aperture, shutter speed, exposure, and depth of field. By this point, I was shooting almost exclusively color print film. I took my camera everywhere I went: zoos, family events, weddings, and just wandering around the yard.
In 1996, I bought a lighting kit and began taking portraits of my daughter. In 2005, I made the move to the world of digital photography and by 2009 I was taking portraits in my living room studio for family and friends.
